Loch Logan Waterfront is the largest shopping centre in the Free State. This project added a new multi-level structure alongside the existing centre, set into the fall of the ground behind the market sheds on the lake edge.
Delivered by Murray & Roberts Construction Ltd. Francois Buys was Senior Project Manager (Admin).
The works opened with a contiguous piled retaining wall and a deep bulk excavation taken up to the boundary of the buildings that were to remain. A reinforced concrete frame followed, with basement and podium levels poured under two tower cranes and table formwork used to hold the floor cycle.
Contract value R150 million, 2005-06 - of the order of NZ$64 million of construction in New Zealand terms today.
